NetSurf 2.0 Plan

Place to collaboratively formulate some sort of plan for what we think will be in NetSurf 2.0 and when to make the next major stable release.

General

• Use Hubbub for HTML parsing
• Use libcss for CSS parsing?
• PDF export
• CSS min/max-width/height

RISC OS

• SVG Tiny support
• Make page/object menus behave better
• ?

GTK

• Tabs
• Text selection
• Clipboard support
• Downloads
• Find / text search
• SVG support
• ?

BeOS / Haiku

• First release

Amiga OS

• First release

Time scale

Undecided, but after GSoC ends?

• libcss depends on how much spare time I have. Regardless, there needs to be a stabilisation/bugfix stage before release, so anything before the end of October is probably unrealistic. --jmb

• OK. How about other behind-the-scenes changes, like build system stuff, GTK translation system, making it one glade file per window and stuff? --tlsa

• Does it make sense to release a BeOS / Haiku and Amiga OS NetSurf 2.0 binary on the web site, like we do for RISC OS? Or is it more common to build it from source on that platform? Does BeOS / Haiku have a packaging system? What about Amiga OS? --tlsa

• Maybe we should sort out gui_multitask() for NetSurf 2.0? --tlsa
